Maimuna Sey

Maimuna Sey, Co-founder of The EveryWoman, a feminist and gender activist who has always been interested in advocating for empowerment, greater sexual freedom and social justice for women and girls and known for her position in challenging predominant hierarchies and ideologies around sex gender and race.

A trained and experienced teacher from Gambia, she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from The University of Tromsø, Norway, MBA modules in International Development, International Politics and Gender studies from The Norwegian University of Life Sciences and previously researched on Migration, Human Trafficking and Prostitution. She is currently pursuing an MBA in Sociology at the University of Oslo with an ongoing research on Norwegian Immigration legislation and policies designed to counter trafficking.

Maimuna currently work with the Norwegian peoples Aid as Resettlement and Return adviser for refugees and Asylum seekers and has a wide range of expertise and long experience within this field. Skilled and Experience in working interdisciplinary and with diverse groups, She Works as a consultant with the Museum of Oslo, Oslo World Music Festival (Barnasverdensdager) and has collaborated with organizations and agencies within the fields of Culture and migration in Oslo.

A board member of The Norwegian Peoples Aid Kristiania and former Board member of The Africa Center for Information and Development (ACID), Norway and Spokesperson for the Working Committee for Gambians in Oslo.
